POSITION OVERVIEW
As a Benefits and Payroll Manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing and managing the company’s employee benefits programs and payroll processes. This position requires a detail-oriented and analytical individual with a strong understanding of benefits administration, payroll procedures, and compliance. You will be responsible for ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with relevant regulations while providing excellent service to employees.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Benefits Administration
- Design, implement, and administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness programs, and other fringe benefits.
- Stay updated on industry trends and changes in benefit regulations to ensure the company’s programs remain competitive and compliant.
- Facilitate employee communication regarding benefits, conducting informational sessions and addressing inquiries.
Payroll Management
- Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in payroll processing.
- Collaborate with HR to collect and verify employee timekeeping data and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal payroll regulations and tax obligations.
- Implement and maintain payroll systems, staying current on updates and improvements.
Recordkeeping and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records related to benefits enrollment, payroll, and other relevant information.
- Generate regular reports for management, providing insights into benefits utilization, payroll costs, and other relevant metrics.
- Prepare and submit required reports to government agencies in compliance with regulations.
Policy Development and Compliance
- Develop, update, and communicate benefits and payroll policies to ensure employees have a clear understanding of their entitlements and obligations.
- Monitor changes in employment laws and regulations, adjusting policies and practices accordingly to maintain compliance.
Vendor Management
- Manage relationships with benefits providers, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality service.
- Collaborate with payroll service providers and software vendors to optimize systems and processes.
Employee Support
- Act as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries related to benefits and payroll.
- Provide guidance and support during open enrollment periods and assist employees with problem resolution.
Qualifications*
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Several years of experience in benefits administration and payroll management.
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in HRIS and payroll software.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
