We are looking for a dynamic Payroll Manager. This position will work closely with and report directly to the Accounting Manager and VP of Accounting & Finance. This position is a very hands-on position that will play an important role in the accounting and finance process.

Responsibilities:

• Assists with oversight and development of the team, including staffing, performance management and training.
• Ensures accurate and timely bi-weekly payroll processing.
• Analyzes and reviews bi-weekly payroll data.
• Prepares Ad Hoc reports for management as needed.
• Processing and reconciliation of bonus payments.
• Performs and reviews various journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Assists with year-end W-2 processing.
• Reviews quarterly payroll taxes.
• Reviews and posts weekly store end of day paperwork.
• Assists with new system implementation.
• Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws.
• Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
• Assists in various projects and audits as assigned by the Accounting Manager & VP of Accounting and Finance.

Hours and Work Environment:

• Full-time, additional hours required during peak and busy seasons.
• Position will be based 100% in our corporate office in downtown Austin. **This is not a remote position**

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a Payroll Manager role within a high-volume payroll processing environment (1500 employees), multi-unit restaurant a huge plus.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or other certification, strongly preferred.
• Prior supervisory experience is required.
• Multi-state experience helpful, but not required
• Strong knowledge of federal, state and local payroll taxes.
• Advanced knowledge of US GAAP and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and proven ability to organize data efficiently.
• Ability to multi-task, adhere to tight deadlines and be self-disciplined.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
