FST Technical Services is Hiring a Sales Engineer Near New York, NY

Job Summary: The Sales Engineer will coordinate all sales efforts between the R10 engineering staff and Marketing Team. The position will take lead on most proposals as practical unless circumstances dictate otherwise. Sales Engineer will work with Project Engineers, Engineering Managers and Regional Director as necessary to write up estimates and draft proposals. The position will report to the Senior Director of Marketing & Communications.

Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Work with Marketing to coordinate all proposals for the Region
  • Review RFPs
  • Attend project site walk throughs as necessary
  • Develop scope of work for proposals
  • Develop cost estimates using the Generator
  • Work with PEs and EMs to become familiar with their clients
  • Review proposals with EMs and RD to ensure completeness
  • Take part in project interviews with the client and proposed Cx Team
  • Maintain the opportunity report and send updates to Marketing
  • Take part in Project Initiation Meetings for a smooth project start up
  • Provide guidance and assistance to R10 Engineers for developing customer relations to recognize additional sales opportunities
  • Attend BD meetings
  • Develop lunch and learn presentation
  • Other responsibilities as determined by the Regional Director and Senior Partner

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering field or equivalent
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in construction, or facilities management with at least 2 years of experience responsible for construction schedules
  • Understanding of building mechanical, plumbing, electrical systems
  • Understanding of low voltage alarm and communication systems
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written
  • Good organizational skills to deliver work products in a timely manner
  • Capable of easily working with Microsoft office software: Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Experience on using construction estimating models in Excel desirable
  • Good interpersonal skills to develop relationships with external and internal clients
  • Strong leadership capabilities
