Summary

Freeman is seeking an Assistant Director of Business Development who will lead a team of inside sales professionals, focused on the rental exhibit market, reporting to the Director of Business Development. In this role, the Assistant Director will provide mentorship and daily guidance to team members, to ensure success of individuals and the team as a whole.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Effectively manages a team of 4 or more Business Development Managers
  • Provides coaching and daily guidance to team members
  • Provides honest, appropriate feedback regarding performance on a regular, as needed basis
  • Creates a positive, inclusive team environment, focused on revenue growth
  • Works with the Director to Identify and addresses skill gaps with team members, providing opportunities for growth
  • Prepares performance reports for leadership as needed
  • Works with the Director to monitor lead and opportunity volume for maximum effectiveness and hiring strategy
  • Proactively collaborates with other leaders and departments
  • Conducts performance appraisals and regularly evaluates for merit and promotional increases
  • Functions as liaison between sales department and other sales related units.
  • Responds to complaints and resolves problems with internal and external customers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 5 or more years of related industry or leadership experience
  • Must have business development experience and proven results around revenue generation
  • Proven ability to successfully manage a sales team
  • Knowledge of sales systems such as Salesforce.com, TSS, and PassPort
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service and organizational skills are required
  • Adept with conflict resolution and diffusing difficult situations
  • Has demonstrated consistent, above average performance in previous roles

Travel Requirements

Travel 25% to 50%
