Overview

Foley is looking for a Litigation Paralegal for our busy Construction Defect department. The Paralegal provides services to attorneys and acts as a liaison between the attorney and the case files throughout all stages of litigation including pre-suit, investigation and case development, mediation, arbitration and trial. The ideal candidate will have strong time management skills; ability to work under pressure on time-sensitive projects; willingness to work overtime; self-motivation and the ability to work independently; ability to work effectively on a team and with all levels of personnel; superior knowledge of legal terminology, documents and the legal process; excellent research and analytical skills; and high-level attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Heavy pre-suit work
• High volume scheduling of mediations
• Prepare settlement agreements
• General office and clerical duties, such as drafting correspondence, document organization and scheduling
• Organize and managing case files including all documents contained within each file through case file tracking systems
• May be assigned a particular task within a case or work on a case from start to finish
• File documents in both state and federal courts and prepare e-filing when appropriate
• Trial/Arbitration/Mediation preparation
• Communicate effectively and productively with individuals in all roles, internal and external

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree or paralegal certificate from an ABA approved paralegal program preferred
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a paralegal required 
• Construction Defect experience preferred
