Our Am Law 200 client is seeking a Project Assistant at its Miami, FL location. The Project Assistant will be joining the Litigation Department and will be responsible for the successful organization, tracking and maintenance of various projects within the department with a focus on subpoena processing.
Responsibilities
  • Receive and process subpoena requests from attorneys or court officials
  • Ensure that subpoenas are issued correctly in accordance with applicable local court rules
  • Track and manage the service of subpoenas to individuals or organizations
  • Coordinate with process servers or law enforcement officers responsible for serving subpoenas
  • Maintain accurate records of subpoena issuance and service
  • Respond to inquiries from attorneys, parties involved in legal proceedings, or members of the public regarding subpoenas
  • Assist in the preparation of documents related to subpoena enforcement or compliance
  • Assist the department with various projects, hand deliveries, and miscellaneous requests
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Two years of assistant or paralegal experience
  • Prior experience with the subpoena preparation process, preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of federal and state rules of civil procedure
  • Ability to maintain and manage databases and create reports
  • Highly developed communication skills
  • Self-starter and comfortable working in a fast-paced team/collaborative environment to problem-solve and implement process improvements
  • Flexible and adaptive to a dynamic work environment
