POSITION SUMMARY:

The Territory Sales Manager meets and exceeds sales objectives of assigned territory by promoting and selling tools, accessories & consumables through professional sales techniques, product knowledge, and building long term customer relationships.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Functions:

  1. Achieves or exceeds sales targets through selling product into the dealer network, building dealer champions of the Festool brand and engaging end customers to drive pull-through.
  2. Targets A, B, and C accounts by present and potential revenue, cost to sell/service, and likelihood of success.
  3. Allocates time and call frequency based on A, B, C account targeting.
  4. Grows the dealer network by prospecting and opening new dealer accounts.
  5. Increases market share by advising dealers on the maintenance of proper stocking levels, based on their specific business plan, in order to keep dealers focused and growing.
  6. Expands the selection of dealer offerings in addition to dealer product knowledge.
  7. Provides exceptional customer service through immediate response to dealer and end customer requests, continuous dealer showroom set up/maintenance and participation in shows/demo days.
  8. Effectively educate dealers on products, programs, and campaigns.
  9. Consistently keeps dealers updated on their profitability/sales goals.
  10. Sells all products with particular focus on the Core Tools along with corresponding accessories and consumables.
  11. Conducts in store dealer trainings on a consistent basis.
  12. Utilizes CRM system on a regular basis and ensures information is updated accurately and timely.
  13. Attends and participates in sales meeting, product training events, and trade shows.
  14. Performs other required tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum requirements to competently perform the key responsibilities of this job in terms of educational background, work experience, licenses/certifications or other knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • No territory sales experience required, three (3) years of related experience such as inside sales or retail management, preferred.
  • Ability and desire to learn new concepts and willingness to put them into practice.
  • Demonstrated commitment to prof. development through coaching from direct manager and colleagues.
  • Must be self-motivated and have a strong desire to win.
  • Comfortable working face-to-face with customers.
  • Must possess strong planning, prioritizing, and goal setting skills.
  • Ability to comfortably demonstrate power tools in a safe & effective manner.
  • Ability to set-up customer events including loading/unloading tools from car.
  • Ability to lift up to 75lbs safely.
  • Ability to operate motor vehicle safely and in accordance with company’s auto policy.
  • Supports dealer product sales through attendance of trade shows and dealer events.
  • Working knowledge of computers including Microsoft Office.
  • Must present a positive and professional appearance.
  • Ability to actively listen; giving full attention to what customers are saying.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills are needed to convey information effectively.
  • Outgoing personality and excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly build rapport with colleagues and customers.
  • Ability to influence and persuade others.
  • Ability to stay informed on current industry trends and apply information to sales opportunities.
  • Proficiency with English language, bi-lingual a plus.
  • Overnight travel: 40-50% on average.
