Fox Chapel Golf Club in Pittsburgh, Pa , is looking for an Assistant Mechanic. This is an entry level, full-time position with overtime and weekend hours when necessary. Must be willing to work in a team environment and have a positive attitude. Must have the ability to take and follow instructions. This includes the ability to work together with the Head Mechanic, the Assistant Superintendents, and the Golf Course Superintendent. Basic mechanical knowledge required.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Schedule and perform appropriate preventative maintenance work.
• Check mowers for height and cut.
• Perform routine functions of maintenance and repairs of golf course equipment.
• Fill out service records on all equipment worked on.
• Maintain shop area neat and organized.
• Observe all appropriate safety rules and procedures.
• Assist other departments with equipment-related concerns and needs.
• Ability to work weekends as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Following Experience Considered A Plus :

• - Experience with servicing golf course equipment
• - Repair and adjustment of turf mowing equipment
• - Troubleshooting ability

Physical Requirements :

• - Must be able to frequently sit, stand, bend, kneel, walk, and crouch.
• - Ability to lift up to 50# and to lift overhead and push/pull/move lighter objects.
• - May be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver's license.
• A positive attitude with the ability to take and follow instructions.
• Ability to be trained on various equipment, i.e. checking mower’s height and cut.
