What You'll Do

As a Capture Manager, you will report to the Vice President of Strategic Programs and play a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of Fairwinds by identifying, pursuing, and winning new business opportunities within the US Government for communications, networking, and information technology solutions. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully capturing and securing high-value projects in the government communications domain. You should be a highly motivated, results-driven individual with exceptional leadership, communication, and analytical skills.

The day-to-day

• Aids the business development team in identifying and qualifying new business opportunities and assists research and analysis.
• Oversees the pursuit of a new business opportunity once a formal decision to pursue is made. The individual will manage the proposal process through development, submission, award and hand off to Operations.
• Administers bid strategies to include pricing, teaming, and proposal approach.
• Identifies the resources required to pursue a bid both internally and externally; works with the team to establish processes, and plans; and manages their execution.
• Utilizes skills as an accomplished business developer who understands project management, contracts, and proposal development.

Job Requirements:

• 8 years of experience in proposal development, business development, program management or related roles within the communications, networking, and information technology domains.
• Bachelor's degree in a business or technical or equivalent
• Must be able to review and interpret requirements and write to them ensuring a compliant submission.
• Understanding of the US government contracting process from initial solicitation to award.
• Proven track record of successfully capturing and winning high-value contracts and projects.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather and interpret market and customer data to inform capture strategies.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse, cross-functional teams in person or remotely.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and concepts clearly and persuasively.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple capture efforts simultaneously.
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising on quality.
• A willingness to travel as needed to meet with customers and end users.
• Ability and willingness to obtain a US government security clearance.

What Will Help You On The Job:

• Technical knowledge and experience in radio frequency communications of any kind (ie radio, satellite communications, cellular including 5G) along with networking (switches, routers, firewalls, servers, etc).
• MBA preferred.
• Familiarity with the telecommunications market, including key players, customer needs, and emerging trends.
• Understanding of relevant US government agencies and their acquisition processes.
• Existing relationships with US government and Prime Contractor customers.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 products.
• Understanding of cost metrics and how they relate to proposal development,
• Ideal work location in the Washington DC surrounding area (but open to other remote locations).

Compensation:

At Fairwinds, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

• This is a full time, exempt position for immediate hire.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

• Must be a U.S citizen with the ability to possess a valid US DoD security clearance.
