Who we need

We are looking for an action-oriented Deputy Operations Manager who can complement and support the Operations Manager in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of the company’s operations. This position is for someone who demonstrates strong leadership and management skills as they will be required to handle the administrative responsibilities of the team. As deputy, you will have day-to-day management and oversight of the operations in the following areas: team management, performance monitoring and evaluation, recruitment, and training and development.

Job Description

Team Operations Management

• Support the Operations Manager in executing on the team’s projects and initiatives
• Ensure Product and Freshdesk adoption
• Work and coordinate with Expedock’s key accounts to understand and learn their business and supply chain processes
• Coordinate with Product team and Engineering team to enhance processes or productize inefficiency or manual workflows in operation
• Improve operational management systems, processes, and best practices
• Update standard operating procedure

Performance Monitoring and Evaluation

• Analyze and improve organizational process and workflow and implement changesAnalyze operations issues or client escalations, investigate and provide resolution
• Ensure services committed to customers are delivered without escalation
• Propose and implement procedures for timely and efficient delivery of Service Level Agreements (SLA) for customers
• Propose and implement ways to increase quality of customer service delivery and deliver at 100% accuracy
• Work with Team Leads to increase utilization

Recruitment

• Interview and assess Freight Operator candidates
• Work with the People team on sourcing and tracking staffing requirements

Training and Development

• One-on-one or Coaching Sessions with the Team Leaders
• Train new joiners so as to make sure that they adhere to company rules and that their performance meets the company standard
• Coordinate with the team leaders on the PIP/IDP process

Qualifications

• Degree in business, operations management or related field preferred
• At least 1-2 years proven work experience in the field operations management, preferably with tech background
  • Knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management principles
  • Experience in budgeting and forecasting
  • Familiarity with business and financial principles
• Experience working with product and sales teams
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Good leadership ability, with experience supervising and mentoring personnel
• Well-organized, attentive to detail, skilled in setting priorities and meeting deadlines, and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
