DPS Group has an excellent opportunity a Project Technical Manager to work at our client site in Coppell, Tx. As the Project Technical Manager, you will establish a project’s technical direction and be accountable for the delivery of the GMP compliant, functionality and robust performance of the technical packages (e.g. process, packing, automation, critical utilities, HVAC). In doing that, facilitating the projects adherence to clients Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) and Sustainability requirements.
Main geographical area to cover will be Americas and the major capital projects in this country, this includes initially a major API capital project capacity expansion in Coppell, Texas.
This role will report to the North America Lead in Engineering Technical Services, within Global Engineering, and will require some travel.
Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Project Manager and sponsor to ensure the technical scopes are aligned with Business and project needs.

• Evaluate the technical competence of design contractors and proposed external team member qualifications and engage with the Project Manager in their selection.

• Agree the technical resource requirements with the Project Manager, and secure the services of Subject Matter Experts, in consultation with the appropriate Heads in Global Engineering, along with support from other Global Technical functions as required or local site technical support.

• Develop an overview of the potential technical options, then lead the refinement and development to deliver a concept that meets Business time and cost constraints and required performance.

• Work with appropriate Subject Matter Experts to govern the technical project deliverables and scope of work.

• Work cross-functionally across the Project to deliver a holistic, integrated, compliant process design, influencing stakeholders as needed and highlighting any impact of decisions on budget and schedule.

• Ensure relevant standards (methodologies, tools, concepts, specifications, guidelines and technical solutions) are applied.

• Develop technical performance criteria together with the end-users and ensures these are met during start-up and early operation.

• Ensure that technical learning is captured and disseminated post-project completion.

Skills & Qualifications

• Extensive Pharmaceutical industry and capital project experience, including knowledge of industry standards, the external supply base and regulatory organisations, and how they impact the business

• Relevant strategic, technical and leadership expertise with a background in Automation or Process Engineering preferred.

• Experience working in a global organization, and awareness of how engineering delivery needs to be adapted to take account of local differences

• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, facilitation and influencing skills
