POSITION SUMMARY— Responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR management in supporting the company. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: recruitment/employment, affirmative action and employment law compliance, I-9 administration, benefits administration, employee relations, training, compensation, and policy implementation.
WORK ENVIRONMENT— Must be willing and able to work in an environment exposed to elements that can include but are not limited to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and uncontrolled temperatures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Assists in establishing and managing internal and external training programs
• Conducts recruitment effort for all nonexempt personnel, students and temporary employees; monitors career-pathing program; and writes and places advertisements and assisting with recruitment effort for exempt personnel
• Writes and updates job descriptions as needed.
• Ensures compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Verifications; completes periodic audits of Forms I-9
• Contributes to the compensation program; monitors market changes and proposes updates to the wage schedules
• Understands and can perform benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefits information to employees in the absence of the benefits administrator
• Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing
• Maintain the company referral program and facilitate the payment of bonuses associated with the program
• Participates in unemployment fact-findings and appeals
• Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the HRIS system
• Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars
• Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals.
• Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed
• Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations
• Ability to stop the production line and/or prevent shipment of products due to nonconformance or potential nonconformance products to our customers
SKILLS & ABILTIES
o Strong computer skills
o Strong understanding of the HRIS system
o Ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization as well as persons outside of the company
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Business related field preferred
Experience: Three or more years of experience in Human Resources preferred
Computer Skills: Must demonstrate computer literacy, proficient in Microsoft Office
