DC CREDIT UNION is Hiring a Financial Service Representative Near Washington, DC

Role

This position is the member ambassador for the financial institution with the overall purpose of providing quality and efficiency to customers, often through digital or electronic interfaces. This Universal Agent/Financial Service Representative (FSR) role is responsible for conducting teller transactions and cashvault transactions in an accurate and timely manner. This person is also responsible for the sales and servicingof all bank products and services for both shares and loans. The FSR works with the Member Services,Operations, and Lending teams to achieve personal goals in the areas of deposit growth, business relationshipgrowth, and consumer relationship growth. The FSR also maintains current knowledge of competitor products,services, and current promotions. The staff in this important universal role are responsible for providing operational support and exceptional member service while maintaining essential controls and safeguards.

Major Duties and Repsonsibilities

  • With a good understanding of the credit union's products/services and the currentmember's needs and requests, offers information on products and services that canbenefit the member and enhance their credit union relationship. Evaluates needs ofpotential members and offers appropriate financial products and services.
  • Receives checks and cash for deposit to savings and checking accounts, verifies depositamounts, examines checks for endorsement and negotiability, and posts transactionsinto credit union records via our core processing system. Cashes check and paysmoney from savings and checking account upon verification of signatures andmembers account balances.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves member and internal inquiries in a timely, professional and accurate manner. Informs and advises member of status or enhancements to current account productivity, and suggests resolution on account disputes and other account activity.
  • Prepares and compiles new member applications and information to open new accounts. Ensures signature cards and other initial documentation are complete. And monitors new accounts to ensure successful membership onboarding. Assists loan department in processing loan applications, credit reports, documentation. Cross-sells credit union services where appropriate.
  • Answers and routes telephone calls, takes messages, provides information and directscalls to appropriate staff as necessary. Completes other duties as assigned for theenhancement of the credit union and its mission.
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws andregulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and theOffice of Foreign Assets Control.

Knowledge and Skills

EXPERIENCEGood customer service and communication skills are critical for this position. To perform this job successfully,an individual should have proficient knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word,Excel, Teams, etc.) and advanced keyboarding and ten-key skills. Training on the job will be provided.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSESMinimum high school education or GED required. Advanced education is encouraged.
