Human Resources & Administrative Assistant

We are seeking a Human Resources & Administrative Assistant to join our exciting team! This position will be responsible for assisting HR with the employee recruitment, new hire onboarding, payroll operations, and assisting our corporate team with administrative tasks. The Dalmark Group is a regional property management and real estate development company, working primarily in Kansas and Missouri. The Dalmark Group was formed to provide innovative and quality residential property services for both conventional and affordable housing communities. This position is eligible for our comprehensive benefits program.

JOB TITLE: HR & Administrative Assistant

REPORTS TO: Executive Assistant

STATUS: Full-time, Non-Exempt

WORK SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

LOCATION: Leawood, KS

COMPENSATION: $20.00 per hour

SUMMARY

The HR Assistant assists with HR functions of the company by supporting employees throughout the employment life cycle. Primary responsibilities involve deploying personal knowledge and application of best practices in the areas of recruitment and selection (assisting when necessary), onboarding, associate relations, general support of payroll and benefit inquiries, and regulatory compliance relative to employment, training, working environment, benefits and pay practices, etc. This position ensures the timely and accurate processing of new-hire paperwork and payroll records by organizing and entering data into the Professional Employer Organization site. This position also assists the Corporate Team with administrative duties and special projects such as report preparation, data entry, document creation, etc.

This position reports to the Executive Assistant but will also be supervised by the Vice President of Management.

Prior to employment offer, all Candidates will be required to successfully complete a background investigation and drug screening. Candidates must provide proof of identity and legal authority to work in the United States. Dalmark Management Group, LLC is an equal opportunity employer.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Review time sheets, wage computation, and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies

· Act as liaison regarding employee paperwork and other payroll related issues

· Verify attendance, hours worked, and pay adjustments, and post information onto designated records

· Keep track of leave time for employees

· Coordinate the on-boarding of new employees:

o Monitor the background and drug test process for candidates

o Ensure that all new-hire paperwork is completed appropriately

o Administering and monitoring the initial new-hire benefit enrollment process

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for the HR department; directing, coordinating, routing and delivering of employee issues/concerns to the appropriate HR Department resource
  • Assist the Corporate Team with administrative functions as needed

· Backup reception desk as needed

· Other responsibilities and tasks as directed by the Executive Assistant

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Especially Outlook and Excel)

- Proficient with Adobe Acrobat and managing PDF documents

- Possess strong attention to detail and organizational skills

- Manage information flow in a timely and accurate manner

- Demonstrate an aptitude for understanding the business as a whole, internal functions, and company priorities

- Demonstrate strong knowledge of general office administration, procedures, and equipment

- Ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with employees and vendors

- Have accountability and take pride and ownership of your work

- Interest and availability to work fixed hours in an office environment

ABILITIES

· Ability to listen, communicate (written and verbal), excellent grammar, spelling and proofreading skills, and follow up effectively with all staffing levels

· Ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking and writing so others will understand

· The ability to choose the right mathematical methods or formulas to solve a problem

· Excellent customer service skills

· Ability to work in team oriented environment

· Ability to work independently in a time sensitive environment

· Ability to maintain confidentiality

· Ability to prioritize and organize workload, multi-task, adapts quickly to change, and deliver under the pressure of deadlines

· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

· Ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with employees and vendors

· Excellent time management skills and must be detail oriented.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

· High School Diploma, or equivalent, required

· 2 years administrative experience preferred

· 2 years payroll experience preferred

Pay: $20.00 per hour
