CSI Support Development Services is Hiring a Human Resources Generalist Near Warren, MI

As CSI Support & Development continues to expand, we are adding a dedicated, professional human resources manager to our team. One of the 6 pillars of our strategic plan is a commitment to staff development and engagement, with the goal of offering opportunities for staff to thrive. Both our human resource managers will play a leadership role in helping us ensure that CSI maintains a thriving culture in accordance with our core values and that our teams are well supported.

Human Resource Manager Responsibilities

Human resource managers are responsible for a broad range of human resource functions including recruitment; benefits administration; federal, multiple state and local law compliance; corporate safety coordination; and human resource matters, initiatives, and collaboration. Job duties for this new position:

  • Partner with the senior human resource manager and senior management team to understand and implement strategic goals; champion our core values and mission; and lead as a team player with a positive attitude.
  • Oversee talent recruitment in Michigan.
  • Support human resource efforts in other CSI regions.
  • Support current and collaborate on future needs through development, engagement, motivation, and preservation of human capital.
  • Recommend to senior management new approaches, policies, and procedures for continual improvement in efficiency of HR department and services performed.
  • Collaborate with HR team, senior management, supervisors, and our education department to improve staff relationships, build morale, and increase retention.
  • Serve as national CSI safety coordinator for staff.
  • Nurture a positive working environment for all employees.
  • Stay up to date with HR trends and best practices. Make recommendations to ensure CSI remains competitive in attracting and retaining top notch employees.
  • Develop content for managers and supervisors to remain compliant with policies and procedures.
  • Maintain excellent communication skills to interact with employees at all levels of the company and in keeping with all our core values.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Human Resource Manager Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position are:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field and 5 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience in the HR field.
  • HRCI or SHRM Certified Professional preferred.
  • Experience in a non-profit preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of federal and state employment laws/regulations.
  • 2 years of staffing or recruiting experience.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft 365 programs and core HR technology (UKG experience a plus).
  • Thoughtful, accountable relationship-builder.
  • Service-orientation: approaching work with confidence but without ego.
  • Executive presence: polished, professional, able to communicate with all levels of staff, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to partner within the department and across departments/regions (CA, MA, MD, MI).
  • Must be able to push/pull/lift 30lbs.
  • This position requires sitting at a desk for extended periods of time and a significant amount of time on the phone and on the computer.

Schedule and Location of Position:

This is an in-person position at our Warren, Michigan office (CSI headquarters). Core business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am -5:00pm. Some travel will occasionally be required (co-ops, regions, conferences).

This is an exempt position.
