M&A Accounting Integration Manager

POSITION OVERVIEW

M&A Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the accounting & finance integration of acquisitions into Crete United, utilizing our Integration Playbook for each acquired business. They will work with key stakeholders across Crete’s accounting and finance organization to set and meet the standard process requirements and integration goals for each acquisition in a smooth and efficient manner.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary function is to manage the accounting and finance integration program for multiple concurrent projects. The M&A Accounting Integration Manager will work on pre- and post-close finance activities and integrate acquired businesses into Crete’s standard accounting functions & processes, financial reporting, GAAP and ASC 805/606 requirements, and ERP migration. The primary areas of responsibility listed above encompass a broad range of activities, including but not limited to:

  • Adapt the Integration Playbook to create a specific accounting integration plan for the acquired business
  • Manage completion of ASC 805, opening balance sheets, QoE roll-forward, and purchase accounting, including fair value accounting & uplifts, etc. for each acquisition
  • First 90 day Accounting and FP&A activities may include:
    • Integrate treasury operations, including bank transition, cash flow forecasting
    • Integrate accounting operations, including AP/AR, payroll, audit, and tax
    • Transition to accrual accounting & GAAP compliance
    • Implement internal controls, accounting policies, and best practice processes
    • Manage Month-end close process & training, pre- and post-ERP conversion
    • Create reporting packages for management & consolidation
    • Support implementation of Viewpoint Spectrum (ERP) as liaison and SME
    • True-ups, reconciliations, and post-closing settlements
    • Insurance program consolidation
  • Identify and track synergies for each integration program
  • Manage project KPIs for each integration
  • Collaborate closely with Controller and cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of M&A transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies throughout the M&A process.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes, systems, and controls to support the company's growth objectives.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

The M&A Integration Accounting Manager requires strong accounting and project management skills, good knowledge of finance, field-service based operations, and a proven ability to manage complex cross-functional programs with a wide range of stakeholders. They will combine strong accounting skills and experience in M&A transactions with an ability to lead in a dynamic growth environment. Real accounting operational experience is required, as are mentoring skills and experience with transactions.

Position Requirements

  • Up to 30% travel.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Management Information Systems, or equivalent experience. 
  • 4 years in a position in the accounting or finance field with exposure to multiple ERP systems.
  • 4 years in a software technical support environment working heavily with external local partners, ideally in a financial or accounting software or application or a combination of the two. 
  • Demonstrated experience with software implementation projects including maintaining and understanding a project budget, timeline, scope, training, and resource availability. Experience with ERP / SaaS and CRM software as well as 3rd Party marketplace partners. 
  • PMP, Six Sigma, or CSPO certification a plus
  • Superior people skills; highly enthusiastic, positive-minded, and very personable. Proven success in a team environment. 
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, problem solve, and process improve. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities. 
  • The ability to work independently and with minimal supervision at times. 
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and facilitation skills for communicating at all levels.
  • Strong consultative, local partner focus, & service skills are required. Ideal candidates will be results-oriented, forward-thinking, and can interface with several layers of professionals across the local partner, internal and vendor spectrum. 
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft applications. Ability to master and support championing of proper processes, transfer product knowledge and demonstrate workarounds in the product to satisfy shortcomings in product functionality.
