The Commercial Lines Independent Contractor Salesperson will solicit new business and provide services for maximizing profitable relationships with insureds / prospective insureds.

Newer to the Industry? No problem! Entry-level applicants will begin with a base salary and the opportunity to earn additional commission during their first year.

Are you experienced in the industry? Amazing! Experienced applicants will be able to take advantage of our increasing tiered commission structure that grows throughout the year as your book of business grows and will likely far surpass the advertised range.

Responsibilities

Contracted Activities

• Identify, qualify, and develop opportunities with new and existing insureds in person, online, by phone, and through written communication.
• Obtain proposals from various carriers for prospective insureds based on their expressed needs, process proposals, and bind coverage.

Follow-up with insureds and carriers requests as necessary with inspections, photos, and other requested documentation.

• Support and prepare insureds for renewal and retention while maintaining strong relationships with insureds through regular communication.
• Collaborate with Agency employees and management and participate in Agency meetings as needed.

Requirement

Desired Characteristics

• Demonstrate strong knowledge of insurance products and usages, rating procedures, underwriting procedures, coverages, and industry operations to effectively secure new business and maintain existing accounts.
• Possess strong presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills with the ability to close sales.
• Demonstrate sound business judgment, strong decision making, and display strong written and verbal communication skills.

Requirements

• Keep informed regarding industry information, new and existing product information, legislation, coverages, and technology to continuously improve knowledge and services.
• Currently have or plan to obtain a Life & Health Insurance license.
