Position Overview:

As the Director of HR & Payroll at Triage Holding, Inc., you will play a critical role in leading the human resources and payroll functions across three entities. In this challenging yet rewarding position, you will be responsible for developing and executing human resources strategies that align with the company's mission, values, and business objectives. The Director of HR & Payroll will focus on fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture while addressing the unique challenges and complexities of healthcare within correctional facilities. This position requires a strategic leader who can effectively manage HR processes, ensure compliance, and implement/maintain efficient HR/Payroll systems tailored to the unique challenges of the correctional healthcare environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Human Resources Leadership
    • Develop and execute HR strategies that align with organizational goals and foster a positive workplace culture.
    • Drive workforce planning, talent acquisition, and retention initiatives to ensure a skilled and motivated team.
    • Oversee talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations.
    • Collaborate cross-departmentally as valuable member of senior management team to ensure the consistent delivery of high quality, cost-effective, comprehensive healthcare.
    • Assist with marketing efforts to include client relations and communications to include the preparation of RFP responses.
  • Employee Relations
    • Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
    • Oversee employee relations, addressing concerns and ensuring a respectful and supportive work environment.
    • Provide day to day management guidance to managers at all levels of the organization (policy administration, coaching, counseling, disciplinary actions, etc.).
    • Conduct thorough, legally compliant internal investigations and problem-solve all employee relations issues.
    • Manage resolution of employee complaints and grievances by providing guidance and support in coordination with supervisors/managers and documenting appropriately.
  • Employee Engagement & Retention
    • Develop initiatives to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and professional
    • Partner with operations team to successfully develop and engage the healthcare teams at facilities throughout the Southeast.
    • Administer employee engagement and retention initiatives including but not limited to Years of Service Awards, Healthcare Professionals Week, Holiday Planning, Annual Bonuses, and retirement initiatives.
    • Design and implement diverse initiative aimed at reducing turnover and increasing retention.
  • Compensation and Benefits Administration
    • Design and manage equitable and competitive compensation and benefits programs to attract and retain top talent.
    • Manage the administration of company sponsored benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.
    • Conduct regular market analyses to ensure the company's offerings remain competitive.
    • Conduct group presentations during onboarding and open enrollment and provide instruction on how to enroll in benefit programs.
  • Talent Acquisition
    • Direct and implement an on-going recruiting program for staffing needs at all facilities.
    • Oversee facility hiring processes, including, applicant screenings, interviewing, selection and hiring, in cooperation with appropriate management personnel.
    • Ensure a community presence for recruitment to include coordination with local, state and federal job placement agencies.
  • Onboarding & Credentialing
    • Oversee onboarding processes, including but not limited to, pre-employment screenings, provider credentialing, and orientation, in cooperation with appropriate management personnel.
    • Administer virtual New Hire Orientation Workshops on a monthly basis.
    • Responsible for credentialing of all physician and midlevel providers according to licensure, certification, and registration requirements of the state and jurisdiction of practice.
    • Oversee and administer Collaborative Practice and Supervising Physician Agreements for all midlevel providers.
    • Responsible for maintaining internal HR database to ensure employee licenses and certification are current and valid at all times.
    • Oversee Facility DEA Registrations and ensure that required facilities hold an active, valid, Facility DEA Registration at all time.
    • Oversee the licensing of providers in other states as needed and ensure timely renewal.
  • Talent Development and Learning
    • Collaborate with department heads to identify training needs and implement comprehensive training and development programs to enhance employee skills and foster career growth.
    • Facilitate continuous learning initiatives to stay current with industry trends and best practices.
  • Performance Management
    • Develop and oversee performance management processes, ensuring fair and consistent evaluations.
    • Provide guidance to managers on performance improvement and development plans.
  • Compliance and Risk Management
    • Ensure compliance with all state and federal statutes, laws, and regulations including all applicable wage and hour laws, FMLA, OSHA, EEO and ADA as well as correctional facility requirements.
    • Mitigate risks associated with personnel matters, conducting regular audits and assessments.
    • Stay abreast of industry-specific regulations affecting payroll and HR practices.
    • Ensure reporting compliance with all state and federal agencies.
  • Employee Health, Workers Compensation, and Wellness Programs
    • Oversee and administer all employee health and workers compensation initiatives.
    • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to design and implement employee health and wellness programs.
    • Promote initiatives that prioritize the physical and mental well-being of employees.
    • Administer Employee Assistance Programs to include mandatory referrals as needed.
  • Payroll Administration / Workforce Management
    • Lead the payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees.
    • Direct the design, implementation, effectiveness, monitoring, and maintenance of proprietary technologies and processes with a focus on business analysis and workforce management.
    • Develop and implement workforce management technologies and strategies that successfully identify labor cost savings and control payroll expenses.
    • Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to reconcile payroll transactions.
    • Develop and deliver comprehensive training content for employees and managers.
  • HR Information Systems (HRIS) Management
    • Serve as HRIS expert to include the functional design, implementation, and maintenance of UKG WFC (formerly Kronos Workforce Central) / UKG WFM (formerly Kronos Dimensions), and UKG Pro HR/Payroll systems.
    • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of HRIS to streamline HR and payroll processes.
    • Responsible for the accurate configuration of systems and coding of payroll data to facilitate precise reconciliation of payroll data to financial systems.
    • Ensure data accuracy and integrity within HRIS.
  • Policy Development and Implementation
    • Develop, update, and communicate HR policies to ensure compliance and consistency.
    • Implement HR policies in collaboration with senior leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree is a plus.
  • 5 – 8 years of experience in HR and payroll management, preferably within the healthcare or correctional healthcare industry. Director level experience a plus but not required.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
  • Technologically adept; proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HR Information Systems. Experience with UKG WFC (formerly Kronos Workforce Central), UKG WFM (formerly Kronos Dimensions), and UKG Pro a plus.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HR laws, regulations, compliance requirements and payroll processing.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills with proven capacity to adapt to new responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships.
  • Proven ability to employ data-driven strategies to drive organizational change and meet business objectives.
