About this Role:

ContainerPort Group, a World Group company, is currently looking for a dedicated, driven person to join our family as a Vice President, Sales, for our growing operations in the Long Beach/Los Angeles markets! While this position will primarily be work from home/remote, it would require the individual in this role to be based in the LA/Long Beach area. 

The Vice President, Sales is responsible for marketing the services and offerings of ContainerPort Group and the interests of the World Group. Does this sound like you or fit your experience? Get in touch with us by applying here.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and direct all aspects of a region's marketing and sales policies, objectives, and initiative's
  •  and oversee the sales function, ensuring the sales plan is organized to grow revenue
  • Identify key marketing outlets and competitive strategies
  • Develop new and existing customer relationships
  • Work to close new accounts and grow the business
  • Demonstrate expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
  • This position will focus on
    o National Accounts
    o Agent Development (Sales to support growing truck count at terminals)
    o Sales to support new terminal openings
  • Other duties as assigned

 Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • College Degree or equivalent experience required
  • At least 10 years experience selling in the intermodal drayage/trucking space 
  • Excellent customer service skills required
  • Experience in a sales management role required
  • Strong communication skills using multiple methods (phone, email, etc.)
  • Ability to negotiate and close deals
  • Experience meeting deadlines and KPIs preferred
  • High attention to detail
  • Flexible and open to adjust to an evolving industry
  • Frequent travel to client locations identified by business needs
  • Ability to work outside normal business hours, as needed
