About the Role

The Company is seeking a VP Legal to spearhead the development of its legal function. This role is pivotal in supporting the company's mission to make critical infrastructure industries climate-resilient and sustainable through the use of satellites and AI. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of legal areas, including commercial, employment, data privacy, information security, corporate governance, and financial matters. They will be expected to provide strategic legal advice to the management team, lead in structuring and negotiating complex commercial contracts, and ensure that the legal function is aligned with the company's business objectives.Applicants must have a strong background in building legal functions for high-growth SaaS companies and at least 5 years of transactional legal experience, preferably in a technology company. The role demands a dynamic individual who can assess and prioritize risks, provide practical and business-focused legal solutions, and work effectively across departments and time zones. The VP Legal will also be involved in IP and patent strategy and will support the People Operations function in HR-related legal matters. A Juris Doctorate from a US-accredited law school and a US law license are required for this position. The ideal candidate will be an operationally oriented strategic thinker, a player/coach, and will be excited to take on a key leadership role in a rapidly growing organization.
