Job Overview: Our client is seeking an experienced and visionary Vice President of Engineering who will wear multiple hats and play a pivotal role in shaping the company's technical, product, design, and business strategies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building and scaling engineering teams in the fintech sector, a deep understanding of emerging technologies, and a passion for innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership:
  • Define and execute the company's technical strategy in alignment with the overall business goals.
  • Establish engineering best practices, standards, and processes.
  • Lead and mentor a growing team of software engineers, setting a high bar for performance and professional development.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Product Development:
  • Collaborate with the product management team to translate business objectives into technical requirements and solutions.
  • Oversee the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from concept to deployment.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and secure software products on time and within budget.
  • Design and User Experience:
  • Work closely with the design team to ensure that the user experience aligns with the company's vision and brand.
  • Champion user-centric design principles and oversee the creation of intuitive and visually appealing products.
  • Business and Sales Support:
  • Act as the founder's right hand in customer sales calls, providing technical expertise and insights to potential customers.
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop strategies for customer acquisition and retention.
  • Assist in identifying business development opportunities and partnerships.
  • Technology Stack:
  • Evaluate and select the appropriate technology stack and tools to support the company's technical needs.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, making strategic recommendations for adoption.
  • Scalability and Performance:
  • Design and implement systems that can scale to accommodate rapid growth.
  • Continuously monitor and optimize system performance and reliability.
  • Security and Compliance:
  • Establish and enforce security and compliance protocols to protect customer data and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with the security team to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with other departments, including product management, design, and operations, to ensure a seamless and customer-centric product experience.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships to drive alignment and collaboration.
  • Budget Management:
  • Develop and manage the engineering budget, including resource allocation and cost control.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience as a technical leader in fintech or a related industry, with a minimum of 15years in leadership roles.
  • Strong technical background with expertise in software development, architecture, and engineering best practices.
  • Track record of successfully building and leading high-performing engineering teams.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and project management tools.
  • Deep knowledge of fintech regulations, security, and compliance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
