The Human Resources Specialist is the main point of contact for employees and managers on all topics related to employment. This individual is responsible for welcoming and onboarding new employees and answering employee questions related to benefits, company policies, and HR processes. The Human Resources Specialist is also responsible for all daily Human Resources functions including recordkeeping, benefits administration, and company communication. We will consider different levels of experience for this role, including HR Coordinator.

Essential Functions

  • Perform routine tasks related to staffing changes and maintain employee records, ensuring completion and accuracy of details and compliance with recordkeeping requirements.
  • Manage enrollment and administration of employee benefits for new hire elections, life event changes, and separation of employment.
  • Plan and support company-wide information meetings such as open enrollment, new hire orientation, and meetings to announce or discuss Human Resource updates.
  • Conduct record audits and assist with mandatory reporting, which may include I-9 audits, EEO-1 filings, payroll audits, and other compliance reviews.
  • Propose and implement innovative opportunities to increase Employee Engagement and foster employee recognition.
  • Act as liasion between HR and management regarding employee status changes and performance management.
  • Manage the Performance Review Process.
  • Prepare and disseminate HR Communications.

Requirements

Job Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Desire to be part of a team and thrive in a team environment.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of 3-5 years education and experience in Human Resources or related field
  • SHRM-CP or PHR Certification a plus.
