An award winning hospital is searching for a strong, experienced Assistant Surgical Services Nurse Manager to lead this busy department in the Portland Area.

The Assistant Nurse Manager of Surgical Services will join an amazing non-profit teaching hospital that has been recognized as one of America's best hospitals for general surgery and overall as one of the top hospitals in the state of Washington. This 300 bed facility has also earned awards for Patient Excellence and Safety. 

The Assistant Surgical Services Manager will report to the Administrative Nursing Director of Perioperative services and the Surgical Services Nurse Manager. This person will be supported by a tenured team of nurses and experienced team of surgical staff.

The energy in this 25-OR Surgical Services Unit can only be described as fast-paced, which makes the support that everyone offers that much more important. Perioperative Services has earned great distinction for its General Surgery services line, and the new Assistant Nurse Manager will have the opportunity to manage that program, as well as many others.

The Surgical Services s expected to have knowledge on the principles and practices of Perioperative Nursing and Patient Care. The Assistant Manager will be responsible for serving as a role model, initiator in problem-solving, decision-making processes, delegating, and communicating information to the nursing staff. The Surgical Services Assistant Nurse Manager will develop clear performance expectations and resolve performance problems. In addition to these aspects, the Assistant Manager will also help develop and maintain the departmental budget, as well as regulatory compliance.
