What you’ll do:

As ClassDojo’s first HRBP, you’ll report to the Head of People and help build world- class Engineering & Product teams. We seek an inspirational partner who can coach and empower others, and support teams to achieve pioneering results. As a key member of the People Team, you’ll provide proactive guidance on hiring, org design, performance, development, engagement etc. that is both data- driven and creative. You will directly influence the culture, growth and performance of Class Dojo. Come build with us!

  1. People Strategy: Partner with Engineering & Product leadership to assess and align on 12-month talent priorities. 
  2. Org Health: Leverage qualitative and quantitative data to assess org health and share themes with Senior leadership and the People Team on a quarterly basis; be the voice of our employees. 
  3. World-Class Team: Ensure strong functional onboarding for Engineering and Product teams at 30, 60 and 90-day milestones; support and challenge these teams to achieve extraordinary results. 
  4. Coach and Guide: Provide coaching and guidance to leadership and managers on hiring, workforce planning, organizational design, performance management, compensation and challenging people situations. Role model candor and be a creative thought partner.
  5. People Program Delivery: Deliver company-wide people programs and drive follow-up actions for Engineering and Product e.g. performance, compensation, and engagement. 
  6. Relationships: Build excellent relationships at all levels of the business. 
  7. Trust: We are proud to be a remote-first company. Build and reinforce a playbook of practices to foster trust, in order to amplify collaboration and innovation.

You will be a match if:

  1. You have 7 years experience in an HR business partner role or similar. 
  2. You have experience partnering with and building out world-class engineering orgs.
  3. You have a track record of building, executing and measuring scalable HR solutions that address real business needs.
  4. You possess proven coaching and problem solving skills.
  5. You believe in bias towards high freedom responsibility vs policy (rules based) culture.
  6. You are comfortable navigating ambiguity and changing priorities; can quickly reassess and take highest leverage action.

You might be a good fit if:

  1. You are a hands-on, scrappy builder, who can go from 0 → 1. You hold the big picture in mind while digging into the details. 
  2. You are an excellent problem-solver and comfortable working with data. You disaggregate complex problems, synthesize quant and qual data into simple, actionable strategies.
  3. You are a strong cross-functional collaborator and thought partner, especially with business leaders and the people team. You are curious and open to feedback.
  4. You are comfortable moving quickly and adapting to business needs. You raise the bar for speed and scrappiness.
  5. Even if you haven’t actually managed people, you are a role model for effective people management. You consistently support and challenge team members to achieve excellent results.
  6. You have clear, concise written verbal communication. We believe in strong documentation.
