Position: Office Assistant 

Department: City Manager's Office

Salary: $21.82 - 25.26 Hourly 

Non - Exempt – Overtime Eligible

Job Summary:

Under general supervision, assist office staff by performing clerical duties.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Example of Duties & Responsibilities:

Duties may include:

  • Help organize and maintain office common areas
  • Perform general office duties such as answering phones, customer service, fax, email correspondence, office organization, and run errands
  • Cleaning and setting up conference rooms for meetings, ensuring they are presentable and equipped with necessary materials
  • Creating and processing certificates and proclamations
  • Manage filing system in shared drive and record information as needed
  • Handle incoming calls and other communications
  • Greet client and visitors
  • Coordinate events as necessary
  • Maintain supply inventory
  • Open, sort, and distribute incoming mail
  • Work in a high-paced environment and effectively handle multiple tasks concurrently
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Skills:

  • Understand and follow written and oral instructions
  • Experience using Google Drive, Word, Excel, and Microsoft Suite
  • Strong communication skills
  • Deal tactfully and effectively with staff, participants, and the public

Education and Experience:

  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for acceptable job performance
  • Currently enrolled in a college or university majoring in Business or a related field is desirable
