This is a grant-funded position, funded through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) expected to last through December 31, 2026, or when funds are depleted. If alternative funding is identified, the position may be extended based on operational needs.
The mission of the Mayor's Office of Housing (MOH) is to make Boston the most livable city in the nation by working with communities to build strong neighborhoods through the strategic investment of public resources. MOH oversees programs that create and preserve affordable housing, support homeowners, provide housing and support services to homeless individuals and families, and dispose of city-owned property. MOH seeks to carry out its mission through a lens of promoting diversity, equity and inclusion and addressing the effects of systemic racism in our city.
The Boston Home Center (BHC) helps Boston residents purchase, improve, and keep their homes. The BHC offers training, financial help, and counseling to first-time home buyers, guidance and funding for homeowners for home improvements, and counseling to help families avoid foreclosure. The BHC also markets homes developed for income-eligible, first-time homebuyers.
Under the direct supervision of the Deputy Director or designee, the Program Manager is responsible for program management related to decarbonization planning and retrofit work that will protect existing affordable housing and tenants by upgrading the city’s housing stock and achieving decarbonization goals. The position will move Boston closer to its goal of carbon neutrality by 2050.
