CHOICES is Hiring a Hr generalist Near Indianapolis, IN

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for administering human resources policies, programs and practices; including planning, organizing, developing, implementing, and coordinating in conjunction with the Human Resources Department.

The incumbent will support and uphold a commitment to racial and ethnic equity and antiracism.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the successful on-boarding of new employees to ensure that all payroll, benefit, and employee files are established correctly and in full legal compliance.
  • Collaborates with department managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.
  • Responsible for internal / external job posting.
  • Attends and participates in college job fairs and recruiting sessions.
  • Assists with screening applications and selecting qualified candidates.
  • Assists with scheduling, preparing and conducting of interviews with hiring managers.
  • Makes verbal and email job offers to candidates.
  • Conducts background checks for new hires and annual checks.
  • Conducts new employee orientations.
  • Assists with maintaining HRIS system and identifies areas for improvement.
  • Develops and generates reports from the HRIS for various departments.
  • Assists HRIS users with password resets and system questions.
  • Responds to employment verifications.
  • Assists with site audits.
  • Clearly communicates and interprets company policies to all employees.
  • Acts as a back up to the Sr HR Generalist.
  • Participates in company HR projects and research.
  • Willingly completes other duties as assigned to advance the mission of Choices.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Human Resources preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in Human Resources.
  • Knowledge and understanding of employment law and general Human Resource practices. HR Certification preferred.
  • Experience using HRIS systems effectively and efficiently.
  • Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.
  • Highly organized, detail oriented.
  • Access to reliable transportation. Must possess a valid driver’s license in state of residence and auto insurance.

  • Work effectively with internal and external individuals, including other professionals in the community.
  • Work effectively as a member of a team.
  • Effectively communicate to various internal and external audiences in both person and through various electronic media.
  • Manage time and work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Salary $50,000
