Chefs for Seniors - Arkansas is Hiring a Chef Near Little Rock, AR

Chefs For Seniors is a personal chef service that provides meals for independent seniors in the Central and Northwest Arkansas area. We are currently seeking a talented professional cook/chef to join our team.

My business is new to the area and in the process of building our roster of clients.

The position being offered would probably be 2-3 days per week, approximately 1-2 services per day. You will work with the same clients on a regularly scheduled day and time each week. This employee must have at least two days per week available on a consistent basis, dependable transportation, be accountable and have your own set of tools (skillets, sauce pans, spoons, knives, tongs, cutting boards, etc.).

This position is ideal for someone who is looking to supplement their current income, a retiree looking to stay active or stay-at-home parent who has available hours during the day. My goal is to provide the right candidate with 10-12 services per week. I need someone who is comfortable working mostly with the senior community and has a shared vision of growing the business.

Qualifications

  • Culinary experience: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Cooking: 3 years (Preferred)

Responsibilities include menu planning, grocery shopping, and preparing high-quality dishes for our clients. You should be able to make pleasant conversation while preparing meals in a timely manner. You should have experience or interest in working with the senior community. Ultimately, you’ll prepare and deliver a complete menu of 4 meals (about 10-12 total servings) in about 2 to 2 1/2 hours that delights our senior clientele. If you have a warm personality and passion for cooking we’d like to meet you.

All chefs are required to be vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to the client's home
  • Grocery shop and cook food in a timely manner
  • Box and label food after it is prepared
  • Track grocery expenses using phone application
  • Modify recipes to meet customers’ needs and requests (e.g. reduce salt, remove sugar)
  • Monitor food stock in client's home
  • Experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the home kitchen

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a Chef or Cook
  • Valid driver’s license and dependable vehicle
  • Working smartphone with a data plan
  • Can lift 25 LBS
  • Pass criminal background check
  • Ability to remain calm and undertake various tasks
  • Excellent time management abilities
  • Up-to-date knowledge of cooking techniques and recipes
  • Licensed with ServSafe Food Handlers certification
  • Familiarity with sanitation regulations
  • Interest in working with the senior population
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Culinary school diploma preferred.
  • Legally authorized to work in the US

You are applying for a job to work for an independently owned Franchisee and not for the Franchisor.
