Charleston Area Medical Center is Hiring a Human Resources Coordinator Near Charleston, WV

Charleston Area Medical Center (Charleston, WV) is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner 1 to join our Human Resources team.

The HRBP 1 is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. Serves as a consultant to management on human resource related issues and an employee champion and change agent.

Responsibilities

  • Advise and assist managers and administrative representatives in the application and interpretation of human resources policies, compensation and benefit programs, payroll policy and procedures, and discipline resolution. Consultant with employees, supervisors, managers, and administrators on appropriate employee relations matters and make recommendations for achieved results. Advise the same concerning employees relations and disciplinary actions. Participate in discipline resolution processes as requested. Provide consultation to managers and employees in disciplinary matters. Review and authorize all employee disciplinary forms in compliance with policy. Follow up with department managers for corrective action. Ensure a comprehensive knowledge and ability to communicate benefit plans. Provide day-to-day administration of CAMC's benefit plans. In accordance with plan documents, determine eligibility, conduct enrollment, initiate claims, and provide necessary counsel and follow-up for all employees. Advise on payroll and benefit changes for employees. Work with managers to resolve exceptions. Requires comprehensive knowledge of compensation and benefit programs in addition to the payroll system. Assist in the implementation and communication of compensation policies and payroll policy and procedure, providing counsel to managers and employees and working with the compensation department to ensure compliance. Facilitate discussion and resolution of potential grievances, involving the HR Manager on complex issues. Refer legally sensitive issues to the Corporate Director. Develop and conduct formal human resources orientation program for all new hires. Manage CAMC'S Recognition Awards programs, ensuring meaningful recognition activities within awards budget Actively participate in review, selection, and implementation of HRIS functions. Identify potentials for expanded utilization of the system to meet objectives. Assure integrity of all HRIS data. Must have a comprehensive knowledge of the HRIS system to ensure compliance with policy and investigate and resolve employee concerns. Protect and maintain confidential data. Maintain employee records (both personnel and benefit file) ensuring legal compliance and accuracy. Counsel employees regarding career paths and other related matters which may affect professional employee recruitment and retention. Manage unemployment compensation program. Process claims, work closely with outside counsel (if needed) and present evidence and testimony at hearing. Assist with development and implementation of new or revised human resources policy and procedures. Assure compliance with Federal, State and applicable local regulations. Assist the Corporate Director in areas of responsibility related to legal compliance, preparation of court cases, legal representation and function independently as needed. Assist with the formulation and implementation of departmental goals and objectives in conjunction with CAMC'S strategic plan. Plan, develop, implement, and monitor special projects as assigned. Serve on committees as directed. Work independently on special projects and assignments as directed. Conduct or assist in conducting training sessions to employees and/or managers in matters related to policies, benefits, compensation, employment and other appropriate departmental areas of responsibilities. Make recommendations for more effective, efficient budget management and monitor budget expenditures. Provide problem resolution of routine office matters in absence of the HR Manager or Corporate Director.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree (Required) Experience: 3 years related professional experience Substitution: Master's degree with 2 years related experience can substitute for the Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience
