Center for Workforce Inclusion is Hiring an Executive Assistant - SEE Program Near Washington, DC

 

The Center for Workforce Inclusion is recruiting for a Executive Assistant - Clerical position within the Senior Environmental Employment (SEE) Program through a grant administered program which provides support to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in Washington, DC. Successful candidates must meet the age criteria of being 55 years of age or older and eligible to work in the United States. Selected candidates will also be required to undergo a federal security background check.

Role and Responsibilities: Provides administrative support to OAPP's Director and staff: 

Duties include:

  • Coordinating logistics for meetings, data entry, scanning, and processing of office mail and briefing book preparation.
  • Receives general telephone calls and responds to routine questions.
  • Maintains a variety of databases and prepares assignments using various software applications including Outlook, Teams, and CONCUR (electronic travel system).
  • Research information for the senior staff using a variety of resources including the Internet, Intranet, EPA Locator and EPA Library.
  • Independently produces quarterly reports of the Daily Calendar for the Director and senior staff using Outlook.
  • Establishes and maintains appropriate office files in accordance with EPA Records Management requirements.
  • Assist Records Liaison Officer, responsible for records creation, management, and disposition.
  • Assist with Custodial Officer duties responsible for the inventory and disposition of all office equipment.
  • Responsible for maintaining supplies by conducting inventories and ordering new supplies as needed. 
  • Makes logistical arrangements for meetings, briefings and congressional hearings, which includes preparing briefing materials and binders.
  • Reserves conference rooms, making sure appropriate audiovisual equipment is in place.
  • Greets and escorts visitors and assist with screening through EPA Security. Receives all mail and packages and distributes them to the appropriate staff.
  • Performs all other administrative and clerical duties as assigned by the SEE Monitor, OAPPS Director and senior staff.

Qualifications and Education Requirement: Successful candidates must meet the age criteria of being 55 years of age or older and eligible to work in the United States; able to pass a Federal Background check; HS-GED; 3 years’ experience in administrative office; Candidates should possess demonstrated ability to organize, manage; multi-task, Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; Word, strong oral and written communication.

Hours & Compensation: Part-time work 30 hours per week @ $17.20 per hour. Hybrid work schedule. Benefits including vacation, sick and holidays.

Older Americans Act of 1965 / Title V COMMUNITY SERVICE EMPLOYMENT / Part-time public service and private sector jobs for unemployed, experienced and/or low-income persons age 55 and older are created through Title V of the Older Americans Act.
