Located in Fort Worth, Texas, the Catholic Diocese of Fort Worth Advancement Foundation
serves the North Texas Catholic community by providing the faithful opportunities to grow in
Christian discipleship and stewardship, while promoting human dignity and working for all to
strengthen their relationships in Jesus Christ. The Foundation is a separate 501(c)(3) Texas
non-profit corporation, organized and operated exclusively for charitable, religious and
educational purposes. As a separate corporation, it is an integrated auxiliary supporting the
Catholic Diocese of Fort Worth, charged with receiving contributions intended to benefit
supported activities and managing and distributing these contributions for the benefit of those
supported activities.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the President of the Advancement Foundation, the Regional Director is
responsible for the development strategy and activities for an assigned portfolio and for other
general fundraising activities on behalf of development efforts of Catholic Education and Faith
Formation in North Texas. The Regional Director of Development manages a portfolio of
current and prospective donors with the goal of broadening and sustaining meaningful and
active financial support for Catholic education. Specific responsibilities include but may not be
limited to:
Regional Fundraising Activities
• Qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors and prospects.
• Communicating the mission of Catholic education to donors and prospects.
• Implementing and overseeing fundraising for special projects and other donor-initiated
efforts.
• Serving as point of contact and overseeing collaborative development efforts with Foundation
partners.
• Recommending and facilitating endowment fundraising opportunities.
• Communicating frequently and systematically with donors and prospects.
• Meeting with donors and prospects regularly.
• Tracking all contact with donors and prospects and related development activities in the
Foundation database.
• Working with the Data Operations team to ensure accurate and timely acknowledgment of
contributions and production of event follow-up letters, interest letters, and special case donor
letters.
• Reviewing and responding to large quantities of data.
Strategy and Prospecting
• Identifying strategies to renew and increase giving from current donors.
• Creating fundraising strategies designed to acquire new donors.
• Reviewing, updating, and refreshing the donor and prospect portfolios as appropriate.
• Developing, planning, designing, and implementing various fundraising programs.
• Conducting research on prospects and donors.
General Development Activities
• Coordinating specific fundraising initiatives as assigned.
• Assisting with production of general Foundation fundraising meetings and events as needed.
• Generating internal documents as appropriate.
• Completing other tasks and duties as assigned.
The Ideal Candidate
Experience
Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of fundraising experience in a professional, non-profit
environment.
Proficiency with various technologies, software and programs including but not limited to the
usage of cellular phone, Microsoft Office Suite and various fundraising database programs.
Experience with Raiser’s Edge, or comparable fundraising database, is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Commitment to the mission and vision of the Catholic Church, specifically the mission of
Catholic education.
Knowledge of the gift cycle, major gift solicitation and planned giving instruments.
Ability to demonstrate clear and engaging communicative and collaborative skills. Will be
required to speak, write, present, and interact with various team members in a dynamic
environment.
Must demonstrate an ability to provide prompt, professional interaction with high level internal
and external customers.
Perform with a driven, results-oriented work ethic and meet metrics as requested.
Demonstrate the ability to work in an entrepreneurial environment, and to multitask..
Willingness to utilize all communication vehicles (phone, email, text etc.) to perform duties and
meet assigned metrics.
Ability to travel to meet with donors and prospects as necessary.
Must demonstrate a superior ability and desire to work with social media platforms while
accomplishing the mission. Specifically, X, Instagram, and other new and developing
platforms.
