Cactus Wellhead, LLC - Job Board is Hiring an Engineering Intern Near Houston, TX

Job Summary: Responsible for the support of product design and development to comply with customer requirements and established industry and company standards and performance requirements. This position is a hands-on learning and development role.

Essential Functions, Roles and Responsibilities: Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.

  • Practice safe work habits and comply with all quality, safety, health and environmental policies, procedures, programs and regulations.
  • With guidance, interpret customer requirements and apply knowledge of engineering principles and company standards for product design and documentation.
  • Continually evaluate existing products and the development of new products to meet new or changing market and/or company requirements.
  • With guidance, develop or review designs, drawings, specifications, etc. of existing or new products. Ensure that assignments meet standards and performance requirements.
  • With guidance, assist in the testing, as required, and production of test reports of products.
  • Ensure system and product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished-product and system capabilities; confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.
  • Consult with engineering groups on equipment designs, questions and product promotion. Assist and respond to NCR’s, SDR’s and ECN’s. Anticipate potential problems and proactively solve complex problems through creative thinking, using internal and external resources.
  • With guidance, assist in the investigation of field failures; evaluate root cause and recommend corrective action.
  • Write departmental related specifications and documents, as required.
  • Provide reports to senior levels of management on progress of assigned projects.
  • Review industry literature and keep abreast of market product trends and technology. Identify and recommend processes for design improvement and innovation.

Requirements:

Education, Training,

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Engineering) from a four-year college or university or attending a four- year college in related Engineering subject matter.

Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Knowledge and use of ANSI, ASME and ISO Drafting Techniques and Geometric Tolerance; API/ISO Product Requirements; Basic Stress Analysis; Development and Control of Design Documentation; Product Design; and Finite Element Analysis
  • Specialized (Advanced) Computer Skills
  • Highly Advanced Language Skills, Highly Advanced Mathematical Skills and Highly Advanced Reasoning Ability

  • Normally work in an office environment; however, occasionally may work in a laboratory, assembly areas, field service machine shop or active well site.
  • Occasionally may be exposed to hazards such as loud noise, heavy equipment, temperature extremes, chemicals, etc. while working in Engineering laboratory, assembly areas, field service machine shop or active well site.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
