As an Engineering Intern, you will assist the engineering team with limited supervision in completing tax incentive studies for a variety of clients primarily in Texas. You will support the team and our clients on a regular basis and be an essential component of our growing practice.

We are currently a small firm but growing at a fast pace and we need high quality talent. We primarily serve closely-held, mid-sized companies. This allows our partners and staff to experience a penumbra of issues, challenges and opportunities different than those afforded by Big-4 or Top 10 Accounting Firms. Mission Statement BRAYN will be the pre-eminent specialty tax incentives firm by harnessing technology, emotional intelligence, and experience to optimize value for clients and BRAYNiacs alike. Job Title: Engineering Intern Location: Remote Key Responsibilities ·Support the engineering team as they complete studies for Cost Segregation, 179D Energy Efficient Commercial Building Deductions, as well as other specialty incentives as needed: oObtain and analyze client data using Excel models, oReview and analyze construction drawings oWrite detailed reports and narratives, oDocument, review, and assemble comprehensive work product for review by IRS and FTB examiners Skills & Qualifications ·Currently pursuing bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required ·Previous experience with CAD, Drafting, and/or BIM a plus ·Previous work experience in AEC industry a plus ·Ability to work outside, climb onto roofs, and lift up to 50 pounds ·Highly Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) ·Time management and attention to detail ·Ability to prioritize and multi-task on a variety of tasks and projects ·Clear written and verbal communication skills, strong documentation skills ·Strong client interaction skills ·Must have reliable transportation and secure work location ·Self-starter with a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude Benefits ·Huge room for growth and advancement ·Learn to perform studies for a variety of tax incentives, such as the 179D Energy Efficient Commercial Building Deduction, Cost Segregation, and other service lines ·Perform work that will make a noticeable impact within the engineering team ·Work with an experienced, close-knit team that emphasizes work-life balance and personal growth and development ·Work from home, flexible schedule ·Ideal candidate would have availability throughout the yearJob Summary
