BradyPLUS is Hiring a Business Development Manager Near Upper Marlboro, MD

Position Overview:

The Business Development Manager is responsible for calling on approved target customer lists within the assigned business segment. The BDM will develop targets into a viable pipeline that delivers net new growth.This role is responsible for C-Suite relationship maintenance, the onboarding of new customers and the transition of customers to the corporate accounts team.

We passionately serve customers in the JanSan, Foodservice, and Industrial Packaging markets, delivering the right products and solutions to ensure their businesses are more successful everyday.

Note: This position requires daily travel throughout the Metro Washington and surrounding territory.

Responsibilities include:

  • Build market share for our company, by locating, developing, defining, and closing business relationships.
  • Accomplish sales growth, GP$ and GP% objectives by working and closing approved sales pipeline growth.
  • Implement all strategies, tactics and value-add programs as directed by sales leadership.
  • Stay informed and stay relevant by researching industry trends, events, publications, and announcements and providing strategy and recommendations to sales leadership.
  • Adhere to the business development operating process.
  • Set meetings with approved targets.
  • Develop targets into pipeline.
  • Conduct research and due diligence to ensure Company/Customer fit.
  • Successfully onboard/launch net new customers with team.
  • Work with Corporate Account Reps to maintain accounts.
  • Attending business review meetings.
  • Examine risks and potentials for all business opportunities.
  • Support corporate accounts team with the development of existing business in the direction of sales leadership.
  • Assist with development and negotiation of contracts, ensure proper vetting and smooth integration of contract requirements with business operations.
  • Continually foster C-Suite relationships and maintain a strong network of industry contacts.
  • Travel daily within approved geography / segment to call on approved targets.
  • Prepare timely and accurate reports of business transactions, sales expenses, and CRM activity in accordance with company police and procedure.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of all company products, services, and technologies using samples, catalogs, case studies and other materials
  • Partner with Customer Service to ensure account activities are aligned and customer data is current.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 3-5 years of experience with B2B sales and business development in government, education, or related industry
  • Proven track record of closing corporate accounts and maintaining C-Suite relationships.
  • Working knowledge of facility supplies (e.g. Jan/San), solutions and services a plus.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to professionally engage with customers in person in the field, virtually and in writing.
  • Self-driven, motivated and results oriented.
  • Computer proficient to include Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Willingness to travel daily in MD/DC/VA market and work a flexible schedule as necessary to accommodate customer events or entertainment.
  • A valid Driver’s License, safe driving history and reliable vehicle
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
