Role Description

This is a contract full-time or part-time on-site role for a Financial Analyst. The Financial Analyst will be responsible for financial planning, analyzing data, preparing financial statements, and reporting on financial performance. The role will require working in our office located in Boston, MA.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to evaluate the company's financial performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Financial Modeling: Develop financial models to forecast future financial performance, assess the impact of various scenarios, and support strategic planning initiatives.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, working closely with department heads to ensure accuracy and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Performance Reporting: Prepare regular reports and presentations summarizing financial results, key performance indicators (KPIs), and variance analysis to management and stakeholders.
  • Investment Analysis: Evaluate investment opportunities, mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives by conducting financial due diligence, assessing risks, and estimating potential returns.
  • Cost Analysis: Conduct cost-benefit analysis and profitability assessments for projects, products, or business units to support decision-making and resource allocation.
  • Financial Planning: Support the development of financial plans and strategies by providing data-driven insights and recommendations to improve financial performance and achieve organizational objectives.
  • Market Research: Monitor industry trends, economic indicators, and competitive landscape to provide context for financial analysis and inform strategic decision-making.
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess financial risks, such as market volatility, credit risk, and liquidity risk, and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Ad hoc Analysis: Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as requested by management, providing actionable insights to address specific business challenges or opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • Experience: Previous experience in financial analysis, investment banking, corporate finance, or related roles is typically required, with a strong understanding of financial principles and practices.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and draw meaningful conclusions to support decision-making.
  • Financial Modeling: Proficiency in financial modeling techniques and spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel) to develop complex financial models and scenario analyses.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial CEO in a clear and concise manner.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in financial analysis, reporting, and documentation.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically, analyze complex issues, and develop creative solutions to financial challenges.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment, collaborating with colleagues across departments to achieve common goals.
  • Time Management: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ethical Conduct: Commitment to ethical conduct and integrity in handling sensitive financial information and making recommendations that align with the organization's values and objectives.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $25.00 - $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 37.5 per week

Schedule:

  • 4 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
