Director of Residential Services needed in Brooklyn

PURPOSE:
The Mishkon Division provides supports and services in a healthy and safe environment for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities living in residential programs and in community settings. Our core values are to provide a healthy and safe environment that promotes person centered planning, community integration, and close collaboration with families and the community. This is all accomplished through an Orthodox Jewish lens, and with an understanding that staff, at all levels of the division, is the determining factor in achieving positive outcomes for our clients.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the Senior Director of Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities Services, the Director of Residential Services provides administrative oversight to a cluster of individualized residential alternative (IRA) and intermediate care facility (ICF) sites.
- Provides regular supervision of the Residential Coordinators and Managers.
- Consult with supervisees on day to day running of each facility.
- Works in tandem with the Director of Medical Services to ensure medical orders are implemented.
- Works in tandem with the Director of Clinical Services to ensure clinical services and behavioral protocols are implemented.
- Works in tandem with the Facilities Manager to ensure facilities related issues are addressed in a timely manner
- Works with the Performance Improvement and Quality Outcomes departments on implementing improvements on all aspects of care and documentation.
- Ensures appropriate follow up of direct reports for all recommended changes.
- Implements systems to ensure regulatory compliance at each facility.
- Responsible for the review of fire plans and fire drill compliance
- Develops strategies to improve quality of life of the clients using a person centered lens.
- Oversight of residential documentation within the Electronic Health Record
- Meet with client and family members to ensure client satisfaction.
- Attend interdisciplinary team meetings as needed.
- Participate in intake screenings
- Participates in administrative and Leadership Council meetings.
- Responsible to attend OPWDD/IAC trainings related to regulatory matters
- Will be on call to respond to crisis/emergency calls during overnight and weekend hours
- Master’s degree in a related Human Services discipline
- 5 years’ experience in working with the intellectually disabled population in a management role
- Strong knowledge of Orthodox practices required
- Ability to read and speak Hebrew preferred
- Willingness to travel to other sites within the program
- Willingness to be on call during overnight and weekend hours
- This is an in-office position
Salary: $124,000 per year plus benefits
