Duties
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience
- Schedule appointments and manage patient calendars
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Verify insurance information and assist with insurance claims
- Maintain patient records and ensure accuracy of information
- Assist with billing and payment processing
- Coordinate referrals to specialists or other healthcare providers as needed
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient operations
- Provide exceptional customer service and address patient concerns or complaints
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a healthcare or medical office setting
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Familiarity with insurance verification and claims processing
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with electronic medical records systems
Skills:
- Physiology knowledge: Understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and basic medical terminology.
- Nurse management: Experience in supervising nurses or managing nursing staff.
- Medicare: Knowledge of Medicare regulations, coverage, and billing procedures.
- Assisted living: Familiarity with the services provided in assisted living facilities.
- Supervising nurse: Ability to oversee the work of nurses and ensure quality care.
- Budgeting: Experience in managing budgets for healthcare facilities or departments.
- Care plans: Ability to develop individualized care plans for patients based on their needs.
- Case management: Knowledge of case management principles and practices.
- Manage: Ability to effectively manage time, resources, and personnel.
