Front of House Manager Duties and Responsibilities

• Overseeing the serving staff to ensure they provide excellent service to customers
• Working with hosts and reception staff to secure reservations and respond to customer requests
• Ensuring that the front-of-house remains clean and accessible for all customers
• Welcoming customers to the restaurant when they arrive
• Organizing work schedules for the front-of-house teams
• Meeting with staff members to ensure they follow all hygiene and safety regulations
• Reviewing financial data to determine whether a restaurant is profitable
• Visiting tables while customers eat to ask about their food's quality and dining experiences
• Choosing decorations for special occasions, such as holidays or customer events
• Placing orders for ingredients and supplies with vendors
• Making sure that staff members balance the cash registers at the start and end of each day
• Working with the restaurant managerto hire new staff members and make key decisions
• Set and maintain a shift schedule
• Oversee day-to-day operations in the FOH
• Ensure customer satisfaction by quickly fixing any issues
• Facilitate quick and efficient communication between front and back-of-house (BOH)

Front of House Manager Requirements and Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED certificate
• Several years of restaurant experience
• Supervisory experience
• Strong leadership and management skills
• Communication abilities

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
