Our client, a leading global tech firm located in River North, is seeking a Payroll and Benefits Manager to join their growing People Operations team! This person will be responsible for payroll processing, compensation analysis and management of employee benefits. The Role:

• Execute timely and accurate processing of bi-weekly payroll both domestically (Workday) and internationally
• Manage wage payments and tax and compliance through ADP SmartCompliance
• Manage 401(k) activities. Distribute plan documents and updates as needed.
• Process all compliance reporting pertaining to payroll and ensure all local, state and federal governmental requirements are met
• Respond timely to payroll requests and resolve employee issues, including wage garnishments, EDD questionnaires, verifications of employment
• Be a first point of contact for any and all benefits related inquiries from employees

You:

• At least 2-3 years of experience in a payroll/benefits role with at least 2 years of payroll processing experience
• Preferred experience in Workday
• Work history reporting into the HR team
• Expertise in 401(K), benefits design, and negotiation
• Ability to demonstrate sound judgment in problem solving and communicate observations and recommendations
• A proactive, thoughtful and timely approach to communication, analysis and problem solving
