Overview
Ballard Products, LLC is a family-owned ecommerce retail company that supplies diverse household goods to customers around the United States. Through our growing network of vendors, we purchase and resell everything from candy bars to car parts using online marketplaces like Amazon, Walmart and eBay. Founded in 2017 by two brothers, we remain focused on building a tight-knit team that is prepared to evolve with the ecommerce landscape.

The Business Development Manager is a key contributor who builds connections with our vendors through face-to-face interactions at trade shows and regular contacts by email and phone. The Business Development Manager is also responsible for identifying new product opportunities using software and manual analysis. In short, this position requires both interpersonal skills and a strong ability to manage data. An ideal candidate will be someone who thrives on building new relationships, enjoys the variation of a changing schedule, and has strong analytical ability. This role will work directly with company leadership and the right candidate will have strong potential for advancement.

Location: Primarily remote, with option to work hybrid/in person if desired. Some nationwide
travel (<15%) and quarterly onsite in Manchester, MI.
Responsibilities and Duties
Current responsibilities will include the below, however the Business Development Manager must be able to adapt to changing needs:
● Contact new leads and manage relationship in Hubspot CRM
● Oversee and innovate lead generation activities with sales team
● Locate and open new distributor accounts in collaboration with sales team
● Create opening purchase orders from new vendors using manual and software sourcing
strategies in tandem with purchasing team
● Use Keepa, Revseller, SmartScout, Helium10, Google suite and other ecommerce tools to aid in data management and decision making
● Manage new account paperwork and vendor initial setup
● Follow up regularly with active suppliers and creatively explore ways to grow business
● Identify and attend trade shows and training events throughout the year across various product categories
● Develop deep understanding of what brands need to succeed on Amazon
● Perform market analysis for high value leads and create in depth presentations with brand management team
● Assist in development of marketing or sales materials as needed
Qualifications
● No prior ecommerce experience required
● High School diploma or equivalent, though college experience is preferred
● 2 years experience in sales or business development role strongly preferred
● Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills
● Familiarity with Hubspot or other CRM preferred
● Proficient in Excel/Google sheets data management
● Keepa, SmartScout, Revseller and related software experience preferred
● Familiarity with EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) principles a plus
