Our growing portfolio consists of a mix of affordable, student housing and senior living multifamily apartment communities financed with combinations of private activity bonds, 501(c)(3) bonds, low income housing tax credits and market rate mortgages. The Financial Analyst will work closely with the President & CEO, Development & Acquisitions team, and other internal department staff as well as third party vendors and consultants. The Financial Analyst reports to the Director of Development & Acquisitions and supports the effort of the Development & Acquisitions team. Job Responsibilities:Perform financial analysis/modeling, cash flow projections, and spreadsheet analysis in Excel and real estate analytical toolsProduce detailed pro forma analysis for individual assets and multi-asset portfoliosConduct economic and demographic research, analyze market dataSummarize market activity and trends to determine appropriate assumptionsResearch and evaluate markets, including occupancy trends, expense analysis, and rent / sales comparables to determine appropriate assumptionsUnderwrite and analyze potential real estate acquisitions and developments to determine investment potentialAssist with the preparation of proposals and offering materials for new or existing investmentsPerformance of due diligence, document review, analysis of deal structures, and transaction supportQualificationsPosition Qualifications:Minimum 2 years of experience in the real estate industry, preferably in an analytical roleBachelor’s degree in business, finance, real estate, or related fieldsProven research, analytical and problem solving skillsAbility to multi-task, work under pressure with minimal oversight, display a high degree of initiative and accuracy and effectively manage time and workloadAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, conditional formulas and formattingStrong attention to detailWillingness and ability to travel upon occasionMust possess the confidence that work product is accurate and completeOutstanding written and oral communication skillsAdditional InformationPersonal Characteristics:Dedicated to the mission of preserving affordable housingA passion for real estate and providing quality housing for working familiesSolve problems independently and be flexible enough to work in a group settingMeet deadlines and prioritize work requirementsInitiate new ideas to streamline routine tasksAccept responsibility for new projects and see projects through completionAbility to be part of a small but growing office and work well within a team settingGood sense of humor
