Atlanta Public Schools is Hiring a Learning Management Analyst Near Atlanta, GA

The Learning Management Analyst assists the supervisor with the management of multiple complex projects involving Atlanta Public Schools' efforts to develop and retain highly qualified staff at the local school and district office. The incumbent will focus on collaboration with internal district departments and local school leaders to create and deploy professional development courses that align with district initiatives to establish and maintain vertical career pathways for internal employees.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • CERTIFICATION:
  • Valid Georgia driver's license and availability of private transportation or ability to attend off-site meetings
  • Valid Georgia Professional Certification at Level 4 or higher in a teaching or service field preferred
  • EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, education, or related field required
  • Master's Degree in project management preferred
  • WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • 5 years of relevant experience leading projects in a K-12 district or higher education environments
  • Prior experience in education with leadership experience in a school or district-based role preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite and remote meeting platforms, such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams
  • Knowledge of website design best practices and ability to update
  • Technical skills and knowledge relating to Learning Management Systems and Instructional Design, as well as familiarity with productivity tools to facilitate data analysis
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting
  • Attention to detail and organized
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong working knowledge of K-12 central office functions
  • Must be able to manage large complex projects, influence institutional acceptance of innovative solutions, model collaborative competencies including conflict management, effective communication, and the intentional use of strengths to move projects forward
  • Analytical, critical thinking and the ability to facilitate collaborative decision-making required
  • Ability to manage multiple projects within established deadlines
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt as needed between in-person work environments

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Assists supervisor with related activities associated with the planning, programming, design, and development of multiple cross-functional professional learning projects.
  • Assists with the organization and maintenance of program management documentation and project and process improvement records for the professional learning office.
  • Supports standard project management tools and best practices within the Office of Organizational Development in relation to professional learning.
  • Monitors project progress by reviewing design documents, work-in-progress, and recommending adjustments to project plan(s).
  • Communicates project status, changes, needs, etc. in a timely and effective manner to appropriate audiences and to office leadership
  • Consults with internal department leaders and local school leaders to develop online learning opportunities that will support the vertical career mobility for internal employees; to include design, development and publishing of the courses
  • Creates professional development courses within learning platforms (Kickup, Elis, etc) utilized by the district
  • Serves as a thought partner with departmental colleagues on new or changing operational processes.
  • Identifies process and procedure changes that ensure or improve project success.
  • Obtains, compiles, organizes, and prepares information and data for various reports; presents project updates at departmental meetings
  • May act as lead to other staff ensuring smooth workflow, coverage of a position in the absence of an employee, and assists in interpreting policies, procedures, and processes and clarifying as appropriate
  • Required to have prompt, regular attendance in-person or virtually and be available to work on-site, in-person, or virtually during regular business hours, and as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned by an appropriate administrator or their representative

Strength: Ability to lift, push, pull and/or carry objects which weigh as much as 15 or more pounds on a frequent basis.

Environmental Requirements: Ability to encounter constant work interruptions; work cooperatively with others; work independently; work indoors.

Mental Requirements: Ability to read, write, understand, interpret and apply information at a moderately complex level essential for successful job performance; math skills at a high school proficiency level; judgement and the ability to process information quickly; learn quickly and follow verbal procedures and standards; give verbal instruction; rank tasks in order of importance; copy, compare, compile and coordinate information and records.
