ASSA ABLOY Group is Hiring a Project Manager Near Phoenix, AZ

IT Project Manager

The Door Group is expanding the Technology Team. We are adding an IT Project Manager who will report directly to the Vice President of IT and Order Management.

This is a group-level role that has been created to support all of the Door Group facilities located through-out the US, Canada and Mexico.

This is an on-site role that will be based out of our brand new manufacturing location in brand-new Phoenix, Arizona.

What would you do as our IT Project Manager (ITPM)?

This role works broadly within the Information Technology domain and focuses on solution delivery, across full IT Infrastructure and Software Development life cycles. The ITPM leverages experience consistent with company standards and project management best practices to exercise oversight of solution delivery. The ITPM works closely with IT teams, as well as other departments planning, executing and expediting as needed to ensure the solution delivery remains on schedule and on budget.

You would also:

  • Consult with or interview customers, and assess or audit processes, to determine end user requirements, and assist with analysis of those requirements.
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Work with development team to build project schedules and resource plans to convert requirements into actionable scope of work.
  • Estimate cost, and prepare business cases for business solutions, considering infrastructure, licensing, outsourcing, development, testing and support.
  • Identify technical risks and provide mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and finalize solution proposal and/or presentation of recommended solution.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Clarify completion criteria for each deliverable and develop acceptance plan.
  • Prepare and present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions.
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time and within scope .
  • Manage changes to the project scope, and project schedule using appropriate verification techniques.
  • Suggest and implement modifications to project scope, deliverables, timelines and resources.

The Skills and Experience you need:

  • Degree in computer science, information systems, business or related field and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years combined progressive experience with requirements gathering, solution design, software development, and project management.
  • Minimum of 3 years engaged in IT project management, and solutions delivery within a business production environment.
  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies
  • Experience in assessing a broad range of systems and processes to identify solutions considerate of performance, stability, cost and simplicity.
  • Ideally formally trained in project management methodologies, and holding certifications such as PMP, Agile ACP, Agile CSM.
  • Self-starter with the ability to appropriately prioritize and plan complex work in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Team player with experience leading and collaborating cross-team to ensure successful delivery of solutions.
  • Ability to develop actionable project plans, following Lean/Six Sigma practices.
  • Strong Project Management, with experience leading multi-phase, cross-team, complex technical projects.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and consulting skills, as well as the ability to develop relationships and influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Possess excellent presentation (oral and written communication) skills.
  • Ability to travel in US and Canada using multiple means of transportation including air.
