Position Overview

The Director, Human Resource for ASICS Creation Center LLC (ACC), located in Boston, MA, United States (US) will be the primary point of contact for ACC employees and is responsible for managing the HR function for ACC in the U.S. You will be relied upon to provide your expert opinion on HR best practices from a U.S. employment law and benefits perspective. You will partner with your colleagues in ASICS Creation Center, ASICS America Corporation and ASICS HQ and carry out ASICS Creation Center HR initiatives.

Day to day, you will be responsible for the HR function in ASICS Creation Center, including recruitment, onboarding, benefits, compliance, employee relations, learning and development, employee engagement, global mobility, managing HR programs, creating, and maintaining policies and employee files and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. This position requires the ability to quickly adapt to new strategies and priorities as they evolve.

This position is open to internal and external candidates.

Responsibilities

Recruitment:

  • Completing full cycle of recruitment activities
  • Contribute to the strategic recruitment plan including recruitment marketing and partnerships with product related recruiters.
  • Support and enforce best hiring practices across the ASICS Creation team to ensure equitable recruitment processes and adherence to applicable legislation and regulations.
  • Tailor the corporate onboarding process to provide a supportive onboarding experience to ASICS Creation Center employees in the US.

Employee Relations:

  • Respond to employee relation matters by completing investigations and required documentation in accordance with local state and federal law.
  • Identify chronic operational challenges and opportunities.
  • Review employee handbooks to ensure they are localized, valid in the region, and apply the local law, ASICS Creation Center policies, and applicable ASICS policies.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and support to leadership in employee relation matters.
  • Support leaders by facilitating meetings to coach, discipline, and terminate employment, when necessary
  • Implement and maintain programs, policies, initiatives to improve employee engagement and retention.
  • Coordinate employee performance reviews, merit cycle and goal setting; assist managers with associated tracking of goals and objectives.

Organization and personnel expense Management

  • Plan and control organization and personnel expenses by collaborating with leadership to contribute business growth.

Payroll and Benefits:

  • Partner with Asics America Corporation HR to complete the payroll process. Ensures compliance with policies and with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Monitor and track time off records, leaves of absences, etc. for employees.
  • Advise on regional benefit plans and impacts to the organization and employees.
  • Administer and manage benefits programs and other related programs for companies.

Job Evaluation and Compensation:

  • Administer and manage C&B including Merit increase, Bonus, employee communication.
  • Implement and maintain a job evaluation program which adheres to regional requirements and legislation.
  • Implement and maintain equitable compensation evaluation program.
  • Establish market value for roles and applicable compensation adjustments.

HR Data and Analytics:

  • Administer and manage employee information in HRIS.
  • Ensure employee information in HRIS is accurate.
  • Prepare necessary personnel reports for management and ASICS HQ as needed.
  • Maintain all employee files to ensure the highest level of confidentiality.

HR Programs:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of HR related policies and procedures that impact ACC employees in the US.
  • Create and maintain policies and procedures manuals to ensure compliance with all regulations and mandates.
  • Assist with the creation and facilitation of learning and development programs and initiatives.
  • Create and lead the ACC diversity & inclusion committee. Implement diversity, equity & inclusion initiatives designed by ACC and Global diversity & inclusion committees.
  • Manage the Global Mobility for all U.S.-based ACC employees including Visa management.
  • Perform administrative and organizational duties as directed, including the potential for various ad hoc or special projects as assigned.
  • Drive initiatives that support and enhance organizational development and employee engagement.

Other Duties:

  • Collaborate with HR departments within the global ASICS community.
  • Provide support and guidance to the members of the ACC leadership team in regard to HR best practices for ACC employees located in the U.S.
  • Develop and manage departmental budget.

Education & Experience:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience working as an HR business partner role or higher.
  • Demonstrated experience with U.S. employment law, talent management cycle and HR Operations.
  • Completion of post-secondary education in Human Resources or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High emotional intelligence with proven people management abilities
  • Focus on teamwork and professional demeanor.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Sound decision making skills and independent judgment.
  • Experience working with a company that operates in multiple countries is preferred.
