We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Asst. Manager for Purchasing to be responsible for learning and creating purchasing policies and procedures and assist in maintaining supply inventory levels required for effective company operation. The successful candidate will also be responsible for conducting regular price comparisons to ensure that company is always getting the best price for product and services purchased.

Asst. Manager’s Responsibilities: Purchasing

• Develop and maintain a solid knowledge and working relationship with vendors.

• Review purchasing agreements and orders with vendors and maintain open lines of

• communications with those vendors to keep relevant supply data up to date.

• Develop an active process for measuring supply inventory and determining purchasing needs

• based on quarterly and annual numbers.

• Compare product deliveries with issued purchase orders and contact vendors when there are

• discrepancies.

• Follow up with orders for expediting.

• Hiring and training of new employees within the Purchasing realm responsibilities.

• Evaluate the impact of supply shortages and/or delays to customer orders and communicate with the affected salespeople to mitigate customer problems.

• Work with Accounts Payable to assure invoice packets are turned in and paid on a timely manner Estimating

• Work closely with Sales, Pre-Production and Estimating departments in the estimating process for large projects.

• Assist with getting raw materials quotes and attach them to estimates.

• Provide estimated lead time for the estimating function Asst.Manager’s/ Qualifications/Skills:

• Previous experience in purchasing or operations.

• Proficient use of computer; use of Microsoft Office Excel (Intermediate)

• Strong organizational skills; must be able to establish priorities and multi-task.

• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and writing skills needed to present or communicate effectively with all levels of management and vendors.

• Must be detailed-oriented with a high level of accuracy.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

Education

•

Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or Distribution (Preferred)

•

5 years in a similar position or Operations in lieu of Education.

Bilingual (Spanish) is a Plus

Schedule: Mon-Fri (7am-4pm)
