The Purchasing Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative support to the department by assisting with purchasing documentations, spreadsheets, and customer service. Performing routine duties such as drafting correspondence, scheduling appointments, organizing, and maintaining paper and electronic files, or providing information to callers.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Entering and maintaining Purchase Orders.
• Working with Accounting to resolve invoice discrepancies.
• Follow-up on Open Purchase Orders.
• Follow-up with suppliers to ensure receipt of Purchase Orders.
• Expedite delivery of goods and services as needed.
• Update Buyer’s Open Order Reports weekly. 
• SKU Set up, create PIR and Source Lists for inventory items.
• Inventory and organize company Supply Closet bi-weekly or weekly if needed.
• Run errands for the department. 
• Assist the Buyers, Manager and Director with any given project.
• Process and/or sort department’s Outgoing and Incoming Mail.
• Must read emails daily and respond accordingly. 
• Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1 years of relevant purchasing or administrative experience required. 
• Bilingual a plus (English/Spanish).
• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but not required.

• Must possess basic computer skills which include Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Ability to move, carry and lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
