Director of Business Development - ProKey Facilities This position can be based in any of our regional offices, or from a remote/home office.

About the position

As a Director of Business Development, you responsible for acquiring new business by building market position through locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships to hit annual sales and revenue targets. You will drive business by uncovering new opportunities through current and new client relationships and professional networks.

Day in the life

  • Partner with marketing, operations, and business development personnel to understand and drive key objectives, strategies, priorities and hand-off requirements with marketing and client relationship work.
  • Using a strong understanding of each service line, platform and value proposition, write the executive summary and key themes for major pursuits.
  • Evaluates industry and business trends, analyzes performance, and responds with necessary business changes.
  • Secure new and expanded business opportunities through prospecting, networking, relationship building, and selling additional services to current client base using all means necessary, including industry professional associations.
  • Seek opportunities for business development within a defined area or sector by building relationships and conducting business development activities with future clients. Also develop new markets within existing clients to maintain and grow the Company's customer base, increase sales, and meet revenue goals.
  • Attend and work company booth at trade shows/expos and participating in trade, community, and marketplace activities.
  • Partner with national and regional leadership in the refinement of overall business development strategies.
  • Establish corporate relationships with key decision-makers across various organizational levels developing strong working relationships with subject matter experts throughout the organization at the functional and account management levels.
  • Review prospect and proposal activities, including monthly sales revenue, profitability, and budgets. Coaches team on proposal adjustments and monitors all sales activities, with a focus on meeting customer expectations related to quality and service.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in business administration, sales, marketing, construction management, or a related field; Masters degree preferred; Real Estate license preferred. Other relevant professional licenses ( e.g., RICS, IAOP, COP, etc) also preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in facility services business development leadership, growths strategizing and solutioning, pricing, organizational design and client relationship building and networking. CoreNet/IFAM/BOMA membership and participation in national and regional events strongly desired.
  • In-depth knowledge of facility services business development terms and principles. Demonstrated experience in achieving or exceeding annual sales targets and managing a high-volume workload while providing strong attention to quality. Proven track record of successful facility services business development on a national level.
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management System software and business intelligence tools (e.g.; SalesForce and PowerBI). Broad experience with other software and financial systems is preferred.
  • Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations. Requires proficient level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions for a growing matrix-based multi-industry sales environment.
  • Ability to problem-solve, both independently and working as a team. Draws on the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the Company. Demonstrated strong mathematical skills and financial acumen, critical thinking skills and detail orientation.
  • Ability to motivate and work collaboratively with senior technical and business leaders and subject matter experts, executive management, and client groups on various projects. Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business strategies, client needs, and RFP documents.
  • Strong listening, presentation, negotiation, conflict management and persuasion skills, and the ability to influence potential customers. Demonstrated skills in prospecting, sales planning, territory management and closing deals.
  • Exceptional business development, relationship building and client communication skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including high quality documentation and report preparation.
  • Excellent leadership, collaboration, teamwork, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong hiring, coaching and mentoring skill
