HR Generalist – Lake Forest, CA

Job Description

  • Advise, coach, and consult with managers on employee concerns and issues regarding policies, practices, terminations, discipline, compensation, and performance
  • Complete on-site/in-person training for managers on HR-related policies and legislation
  • Train employees on new HR policies, as applicable
  • Partner with field leadership to mitigate and decrease escalated employee relations concerns
  • Identify areas where HR related processes could be improved or made more efficient for end-users
  • Perform effective and concise exit interviews with all salary and hourly employees departing the organization
  • Ensure compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, drug screens, and background policies
  • Perform effective and timely investigations into employee & labor relations concerns in the office and field
  • Interpret and clarify employment standards questions and queries, and ensure compliance to such legislation
  • Act as a representative for unemployment claims and leave management
  • Responsible for the assistance with full-cycle recruitment of positions (salary and hourly)
  • Coach and train staff on recruitment process, as required
  • Other duties as required by management

Required Skills/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with a focus in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business Administration or related field preferred
  • 5 years of HR Generalist experience is required, with experience supporting industrial construction/oil and gas workforces considered a strong asset
  • Experience supporting union workforce strongly preferred, including knowledge of NLRA regulations, collective bargaining, grievance handling, and labor contract administration
  • Skilled in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and office 365
  • Experience with talent management programs (such as UltiPro, iCIMS, HireDesk or Taleo)
  • Experience with HRIS programs such as UltiPro, ADP, or JDE
  • Demonstrated ability to provide beneficial recommendations to resolve HR-related issues related to employee/labor relations issues, regulations, laws, and policies
  • Must be able to work under pressure, to multi-task, and meet deadlines
  • Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • A PHR or SHRM-CP designation (or working towards a designation) would be considered an asset

Please note that this is an onsite position for 5 days a week

Salary Range: $80,000 - $92,000 annually, commensurate with skills and experience
