Responsibilities

Primary Responsibility: Americold provides temperature-controlled warehousing and transportation to food producers, restaurants, schools and retail outlets such as grocery stores. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Americold owns and operates temperature-controlled warehouses around the world. We have over 16,000 associates and offer a wide variety of career opportunities - from warehouse forklift operators and supervisors to accounting, administration, business development, customer support, facilities engineering, maintenance technicians, engineering, regional truck drivers, transportation, and technology solutions positions. The Regional Vice President is responsible for the overall performance of warehouse operations in an assigned region, ensuring a safe working environment that exceeds customer expectations. Determine the overall strategy, priorities, and direction for operations within the region. Lead and develop a team under a common growth and operations platform, and driving improvement in revenue, operational efficiency, margin, employee retention, and client retention for each location in the assigned region. Work closely with internal and external partners to continuously ensure the organization is delivering operational excellence, while also identifying innovative and creative services and solutions to expand on customers requirements Essential Functions: • Partner with Business Development leadership to ensure alignment of commercial and operational strategies and priorities to drive growth of the business portfolio. • Lead division efforts to improve market share by driving sales and improving customer count and sales per customer • Identify opportunities through warehouse visits to ensure solutions/action plans are in place to address identified areas of concern • Achieve and exceed revenue and profit budgets, targeted goals (e.g., safety, shrink), and financial glide paths • Drive cost-effectiveness through leadership teams to ensure effective execution of plans and initiatives that maximize sales and profits, reduce shrink, and improve each site’s contribution • Lead Operation teams in the planning, implementation, and execution of initiatives that support company policies and practices while complying with all government laws and regulations • Understand and develop financial performance in areas including budgets (e.g., sales, shrink, labor expenses, other expenses) and other targeted goals • Implement, support, and follow up on change management initiatives • Establish and maintain effective two-way feedback on communication and efficiency of operations and change management initiatives to corporate leaders • Demonstrate and model inclusionary leadership and friendly behaviors, hold associates accountable and support the efforts of the sites and region. • Remove all region barriers in creating an inclusive business environment where all associates are respected and engaged • Partner with Human Resources professionals in recruiting, hiring, training, development and evaluation of management and other associates to drive and sustain improvements in employee retention throughout the region • Leverages positive working relationships with union leadership and employees to create exceptional business outcomes • Collaborates with legal, human resources, and operations on collective bargaining strategy, and attends negotiations when appropriate • Supervise and coach direct reports on the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience: • Bachelor's degree required • Minimum of 12 years of progressive leadership and experience in general management with full P&L responsibility in warehousing, logistics, distribution, transportation, manufacturing, or other related industry • Proven leadership and experience with managing effective client relationships • Minimum of five years of labor relations experience Knowledge & Employment Standards: • Possess an entrepreneurial spirit that generates new business and service offerings for our customers • Comfortable with change, taking measured risk, and influencing decision-making • Demonstrated leadership skills with a broad knowledge of management practices and good business analysis/project management skills • Demonstrated ability to grasp a large, complex, matrix-oriented global business at a base level and use this understanding to set overall strategy and drive business process improvement • Demonstrated business savvy to effectively communicate and work with other executives in support of achieving business and systems goals • Strong business planning skills to execute strategic projects with implications for business areas with rapidly evolving business processes. Must possess a balanced perspective on strategic and tactical issues • Proven ability to manage numerous projects, as well as resources, remotely in a highly dispersed organization • Proven ability to select top talent and create a productive environment that promotes initiative, innovation, continual learning, and development of key personnel for future advancement • Excellent communication and presentation skills with a wide range of audiences including clients, front line managers and C-level leaders Physical Requirements & Abilities: The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
