The Learning and Development Manager is responsible for overseeing safety and onboarding training for all field employees. The role will coordinate all L&D activities but partner with the operational, Safety and HR leaders. Activities include managing the L&D specialists and regularly interacting with employees and third-party training providers. This position actively searches, creatively designs, and implements effective methods to educate, enhance performance and recognize performance. A successful candidate must be friendly, self-motivated team player with strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
What You'll Do:
  • Develops and implements a learning strategy and programs that are aligned with the organization's needs
  • Has full understanding of the various business units and their specific training and safety regulation requirements
  • Embraces and implements various types of training
  • Designs and produces training materials, including e-learning courses
  • Tracks budgets, negotiates contracts, builds and maintains relationships with third party training providers
  • Access the success of the development plans and modifies where necessary
  • Hires and manages the L&D specialists
  • Manages the development of the Safety team from a training perspective
  • Acts as a principal point of contact for anyone with questions about training and development
  • Collaborate effectively with other relevant stakeholders
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in learning trends, changes in learning theory, and developments in learning technologies.

Requirements
What We Need from You:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant working experience in HR or Safety disciplines
  • OSHA/MSHA Trainer Certifications, a plus
  • DOT knowledge or administration, a plus
  • Minimum 5 yrs experience working in learning
  • Demonstrate affinity with employee learning and learning technologies
  • Ability to design and produce relevant training materials, including e-learning courses
  • Familiarity with e-learning platforms
  • Able to solve problems quickly and resolve issues
  • Ability to communicate effectively and engage with employees
  • Ability to effectively present information to clients, public groups, boards of directors, employees and management.
  • Positive attitude, the ability to motivate team members on site, and the skills to communicate and report effectively
  • Fluent in English; Spanish is a plus
  • Physical ability to stand; walk; sit; use hands; talk or hear; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; lift and/or move up to 30 pounds; ability to use close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and adjust focus
